Event Details:
The Trinity Services Annual Plant Sale is created with the help of Trinity’s all day Horticultural Therapy program serving individuals with disabilities.
Horticultural Therapy was implemented in 1989 and helps individuals with disabilities achieve various academic goals, such as discriminating size and color, identifying objects, measuring, increasing communication skills, and sensory stimulation. Horticultural Therapy also emphasizes participating in physical activity, learning social skills and learning gardening as a leisure skill. There are currently greenhouses located at the Frankfort and Wilmington Adult Learning Program sites, as well as at the main campus building in Joliet.
