The Family Counseling Center offers evidenced-based psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and couples in individual and group formats in English and Spanish. We accept various forms of private insurance, Medicaid and offer an affordable, sliding-scale, self-pay option.

Our marriage and family therapists provide solution focused interventions with attainable therapeutic goals to aid in attaining the best outcome for all individuals involved. We also provide parent coaching and other interventions to improve communication among family members.
Court Mandated Anger Management
Persons 16 years or older who have difficulty expressing or controlling anger may be eligible for treatment. Some clients are referred by the court system after formal legal charges have been filed as a result of behavior.
Couples who wish for an affordable route through the divorce process can consult with our licensed divorce mediators. Mediation offers a positive, and future focused way to resolve disputes. Participants have an active role in making durable decisions and agreements. The average mediation is finalized in a few hours. Our mediators are approved by the Will Country Court and work with divorce, separation, custody and visitation issues.
Groups Offered at FCC
FCC is now offering group therapy at our Joliet and Homewood locations. Group therapy is an effective and productive way to improve people’s lifestyles. Groups are offered on an as needed basis, and below are two groups that we presently feature.
This group is for parents who want to have great kids! In this group parents will learn well-researched and highly effective parenting techniques.
This group is for couples who would like to develop greater relationship enhancement. Couples can expect to learn evidenced based methods to improve their relationship.
The staff of FCC includes licensed counselors, psychologists and social workers. The FCC also serves as a training facility, offering twelve-month internship and practicum experiences to students. These programs consist of pre-doctoral or practicum training in clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy, and community counseling.
