Community Living

(CILA)

Image Trinity's Community Living Programs are community homes and apartments for 1 to 8 individuals who have developmental disabilities. These homes, or CILAs (Community-Integrated Living Arrangements), are located in residential neighborhoods throughout the Southwest Chicago suburbs of Homewood, Park Forest, Frankfort, Matteson, Mokena, New Lenox, Peoria, Lockport, Elwood, Naperville, Crete, Crest Hill, Wilmington, Braidwood, Manhattan, Joliet, and Reno, Nevada. Community Living Programs serve more than 400 persons with disabilities.

Each home is staffed by Independent Living Counselors, who support the persons living in the home to maintain their home and participate in the life of the community. Household duties are shared (to the extent possible and appropriate) by residents. In addition to participating in an Adult Learning Program, therapy program, or working at a job, program participants enjoy regular social activities, from going to a baseball game or attending a concert to something as routine as shopping at the grocery store. Persons served in the Community Living Programs are encouraged to become as capable and independent as possible in a learningful environment.

For more information on the CILA program, download the pamphlet, Living and Working in the Community (PDF).
